Kittball Records

Kittball Records / Electronic music from Germany / Worldwide / Est. 2005 300 records deep.

300 records. Twenty years. Almost there.

The ups and the downs. The highs and the lows. The joys and the pains. The full floors and the eight people still standing at four in the morning. The years we made money and the years we did not.

Running a label in 2026 is nothing like running one in 2005. Most of what we learned back then is useless now. Good.

Kittball was never just a label to us. We argued. We fell out. We loved each other anyway. All of it for the same reason: electronic music, and the people who make it.

We are not stopping.

Festivals

A quieter year

No Day & Night Festival for us this year, and no Kittball truck at Rave the Planet. We are restructuring. Next year we plan to come back twice as hard.

The floor

Twenty years of weekends.

Tube & Berger started the label in 2005 to put out their own records and the ones their friends kept sending. Juliet Sikora came in as a partner and label manager soon after. The office moved from Solingen to Dortmund when the touring got heavier. Nothing else about the setup has changed much.

Some of them made one record with us and moved on. Some have been here twenty years and counting. Some appear on the compilations rather than on their own sleeve. All of them are Kittball.

It Began In Africa

The one that is not about us.

Since 2009 we have licensed recordings from the African Children's Choir and handed them to producers to rework. Riva Starr, Timo Maas, Ida Engberg, &ME, andhim, Walker & Royce and around forty others have taken part. Three volumes so far. Over twenty thousand euro has gone to the choir, every cent of it, for housing and for schooling. We keep the series going because it is the only thing on this label that is not about the label.

Send, or stay close

One channel, and we actually listen to it.

Send music through Trackstack. We listen to all of it, usually within a fortnight. Links sent anywhere else get lost, and that is on us, not you.
